The vagus nerve is full of neurotransmitters that bounce back and forth from the brain to the gut. Heres why:ĭid you know that you have a superhighway in your nervous that directly connects the brain with your colon? Often times my clients struggling with gut issues, are also struggling with anxiety and depression. ♥️For active individuals, I recommend 1g of protein per 1lb body weight for optimal protein intake. You will not meet your athletic goals if you are not optimizing your nutrition and EATING THE DAMN FOOD. Too many people, specifically women, have been eating too little for too long. My favorite meals here are burrito bowls, eggs + avo + toast, loaded smoothie bowls, or salmon and pasta! Lots of protein and carbs for recovery, and fats for satiation and optimal calories. This is where we eat to grow muscle, recovery properly, and feel our best the NEXT day/ session. This should be your largest meal of the day. *these can be highly processed and are not for people suffering with inflammation* Refuel with quick carbs! Dates, fruit, cereal, sports drinks, apple sauce, gels! In the cycling/ triathlon world, when you are low on fuel and crashing, we call this a "BONK." Don't bonk your work outs. If you are exercising over 90 minutes, you gotta replenish. Eggs on toast, chicken and rice, or the classic PB + J are all great. My FAVE is protein oatmeal with some berries and nut butter.

Think easily digestible carbs and protein! Stay away from lots of fats (specifically oils/ greasy meats) for optimal digestion. If you are feeling dizzy, tired, hungry/ hangry, shaky, weak. you finish your work out feeling strong You know you have fueled yourself properly for a work out when: Now that we've gotten that outta the way. Thank you for being along for this ride! I plan on keeping up with this page as much as I can to post life content and educational content.įasted cardio is NOT optimal. Switching career paths is hard and it’s a constant battle of learning and imposter syndrome. I can feel myself expanding!!!! And i’m so dang proud of myself for working hard to market myself as an entrepreneur, get clients and experience that allowed me to be hired by a company I feel so aligned with. I am feeling really excited for the upcoming months. We can only continue to search for what works for us, and it’s a never ending journey! ♥️ And I am still consistently working on my gut and hormone health. ♥️ I completed my Nutrition and Healthy Living Certification from Cornell University! ♥️ I quit my health coaching job in Boston because I literally hated it (it was less health coaching and more selling BS “shakes” 🙄) ♥️I adopted a fur baby named Tomato and she is my bff (follow my personal for 🍅 content). ♥️I moved to New Jersey for the summer, and am looking for an apartment in the Philly area 🙂 I chose this path and am really happy I did. Been a minute since I’ve been posting on here, and mostly because life has been a whirl wind recently! Lots of Growing Pains and Growing Gains👏🏽
